In the process of drinking water disinfection and also in treating for zebra mussel infestation, liquid sodium hypochlorite is often the product of choice. However, there are three operating problems negatively effecting the ease of injection of liquid sodium hypochlorite into feed streams. These are: build-up of corrosion deposits in feed lines and water intake lines, build-up of stalagtite hard deposits in the feed lines and water intake lines, and "gassing" within the feed and intake lines causing cavitation of the liquid sodium hypochlorite feed pumps.

The first two problems impede treatment, while the third problem stops treatment all together. When SeaQuest is added directly to the liquid sodium hypochlorite feed tanks, all three operating problems disappear and effective continuous control is reestablished.
